BIO

Theoretical Physicist and Master in Theoretical Physics by the Faculty of Physics of Barcelona University, Spain, and Diploma in Space Studies by the International Space University in California (Cal Poly Pomona) in the specialty of Space Business & Management, Gloria Garcia-Cuadrado has extensive experience of more than 25 years in research, management, consulting, and science communication.

From fundamental research to project management, management of a whole research area, or centre management, Gloria Garcia-Cuadrado has always combined her research work with Science Communication and Consulting, working for the Government, the Private Sector, R&D oriented entities, and Education Entities in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

She is passionate about science in all its facets being a firm believer in its tractor capabilities to spur curiosity, develop critic and analytic abilities, build-up teamwork, as well as its potential to inspire dreams and role models mainly for youngsters and future generations.

"Let's not settle... Let's keep exploring... Herman Melville, in Moby Dick, says - I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas...- Let's give our young new oceans to dream about so that they build the ships to sail them"

BACKGROUND

Gloria Garcia-Cuadrado is a Theoretical Physicist, Science Communicator and Advisor, and Entrepreneur.

Gloria Garcia-Cuadrado's latest science project is also an industrial one: Taking advantage of her knowledge from more than 25 years of professional career in the aerospace sector, she is the Founder and President of Celestia Aerospace, a company dedicated to open space access to everyone, opening microgravity research possibilities to small and medium enterprises, as well as educational centres, using nanosatellites (low-mass satellites that fit in your hand).

"Space is the new playing field and we can all participate. Of the 92.000 millions light-years which is the size of the observable Universe, we have only ventured 1,29 light-seconds, to the Moon, and only 12 people have set their foot on it... and we are 7.800 million. Perhaps it's time"

"We must contribute tractor projects for the country and inspiring endeavors for our young, so that their talent and ideas can flourish, grow, and bear fruits here. It's essential that we can retain our talent and for that we need ambitious projects, generous in their return to society and well paid. We have to create an ecosystem and a culture of sponsorship, recognition, and mentoring of those who are worth it, to help them grow and achieve the fullest potential of their capabilities and ideas"

Bachelor in Physics by the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain.

Research Proficiency - Master in Theoretical Physics by the Physics Faculty of the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, with two research Thesis defended (Cosmological Perturbation Theory and Loop Quantum Gravity).
